This article is concerned with the role of mobile learning in second language learning. The first section is an attempt to give an overview to Motivation and Individual Differences in Mobile learning. Next section ‘New Types of Educational Research’ deals with survey findings at Institute of Finance and Economics. Finally, the last part includes recommendations and some ideas for the classroom activities.
Second Language Acquisition (SLA) is a complex process and it is not a predictable phenomenon. Every person learns language in a different way and in a different situation.SLA analyses the learner on the one hand and the learning situation on the other. It is very important to distinguish between interactions of these two factors. As Ellis (1985:5) points out that second language acquisition stands in contrast to the first language acquisition. It is the study of how learners learn an additional language after they have acquired their mother tongue. The nature of SLA has been exposed to different formats in the digital world, namely, audio and video podcasts, applications, educational platforms, etc. This trend must be taken into consideration and researched in depth for improving students’ competence and fluency. |
