Based on the above background, this paper analyzes the current situation of China's direct
investment in Mongolia's mining industry from two aspects: the overall scale of China's investment
in Mongolia's mining industry and the mining investment industry, investigates the main problems
existing in China's investment in Mongolia's mining industry, and then analyzes the causes of these
problems, Finally, the paper puts forward policy suggestions to further promote the development of
China's mining direct investment in Mongolia. The conclusions of this paper are as follows: first, the scale of China's mining investment in Mongolia has gone through three stages: The investment
in mining industry mainly focuses on gold, copper, iron, and coal mines in three stages: investment
reduction in 2008-2011, investment growth in 2012-2016 and steady improvement from 2017 to
2020. Second, there are three main problems in China's mining investment in Mongolia: one is that
the investment scale is relatively small, the second is that the investment in the mining industry is not
reasonable, and the third is the insufficient support from the government and society. Third, the
main reasons for the above problems are the lack of stability in Mongolia internal politics, the
disorder of mining license system and relatively backward transportation, and the lack of long-term
strategy for Chinese enterprises to pay attention to economic benefits, ignore investment
environmental risks and long-term investment in Mongolia mining investment. Fourth, in order to
further, promote the development of China's direct investment in Mongolia's mining industry, Chinese enterprises should strengthen the risk investigation of policies and regulations before
investment, attach importance to the social benefits of Mongolia and establish a long-term investment
plans. Meanwhile, the Mongolian government should strengthen infrastructure construction and improve the level of investment facilitation |
